Approximately Like Larouche

Ralph Nader is running for President again.  He received 0.3% of the vote last time, and there is, if anything, less demand for his candidacy now.  At this point, there are serial killers who are more popular than this guy.  There was a governor of Minnesota who ran for President 7 times; once seriously, and 6 times as a crazy man who had no chance of election.  His name was Harold Stassen.  There was the Socialist party leader, Eugene V. Debs, who ran for President because he opposed our entry into World War I.  But to compare Mr. Nader to these men probably does him too much credit.  At this point he is more akin to Lyndon LaRouche, a fascist con man who used Presidential elections to raise his public profile, and enable him to raise more money.  Nader spent decades as a public safety advocate and he could have died with considerable credit left in his account.  Instead he has decided to go down in history as the latest in a succession of crazy men who run for President.
